A manufacturer of Locomotives required a safer and more productive method to assemble the Locomotive “Cabs”. Three 50,000 lb capacity, tandem scissor leg lift tables were purchased and installed into a 10′ deep concrete pit. When the Lift Table(s) is in the fully raised position it is level with the floor. The Locomotive Cab is positioned onto the Lift Table and progressively lowered down into the pit during the assembly process. The assemblers are now able to work at a comfortable and productive work height as opposed to the previous system of ladders, scaffolds etc. required during the assembly process.
