A weight compensated safety switch will stop the downward travel of the barrier should it contact an obstacle.

Description

The Pentalift Safety Barrier is the ultimate safety device, designed to serve all loading dock applications. Not only does the Safety Barrier prevent a fork truck from falling off the loading dock, it also prevents damage to closed overhead doors. The Pentalift Safety Barrier will withstand the impact of a 5 ton fork truck traveling at 4 mph. Supplied as an independent safety device, the Pentalift Safety Barrier is compatible with any make of hydraulic or mechanical dock leveler or edge of dock and even works at loading docks without dock levelers.

Linear Actuated Safety Barrier Model No:__________ as manufactured by Pentalift Equipment Corporation. The safety barrier shall be of surface mount design positioned across the door opening. Unit shall incorporate a pivot assembly with linear actuated safety barrier arm and a receiving carriage assembly. Both shall be provided with pre-drilled mounting plates for easy installation on concrete floor. The barrier arm is to be of heavy-duty 50,000 psi yield construction painted safety yellow. The pivot assembly shall be enclosed in a protective housing. Controls shall be remote wall mount type with raise and lower switches. Required power is 115 volt single phase. For additional safety, the barrier arm is to be equipped with an electrically interlocked trip cable and a weight compensated safety switch.
